MLA Goes Online

The Modern Language Association recently launched its new MLA Web site! Although the MLA site is still under construction, it provides a wealth of information about the Modern Language Association's history and mission, MLA membership, the Annual MLA conference, and the organization's available prizes and awards. In addition, the Modern Language Association's site offers information about MLA's publications, including descriptions and ordering information for their various books, the journal PMLA, and the MLA International Bibliography. Perhaps the most intriguing feature on the MLA site is the section concerning the Job Information List, which offers information about the JIL, data on the job market, and a sizable archive of tips and guidelines for job candidates and hiring departments. In addition, users can submit queries, suggestions, and job listings through the JIL home page, and soon users will be able to search the Electronic Job Information List.

Netoric Project Finds a New Home

On July 1, 1997, Netoric Project established a new home at the Netoric International Park on the educational MOO Connections. Tuesday Cafe, the Netoric Project's weekly, scholarly cybermeeting of composition instructors involved in and/or interested in computer-assisted writing instruction, will now be held in the Netoric International Park at its regular meeting time: Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST. For information about Tuesday Cafe or joining the Netoric Project, visit the new Netoric Home Page.
